Emergency plumber across London

We are based in Camden NW1 and take emergency call outs from businesses and homes across all of London. NW1, NW5, N7 and N1C are the postcodes nearest the base. Wherever you are, the office gives you an arrival window for your address when you call.

What counts as a plumbing emergency

Water or gas going where it should not, or a building or home with no heating or hot water. Most emergency plumbing calls are one of these:

  • Burst pipes and major leaks. Water through a ceiling, or a leak you cannot stop at the stopcock. Call first, move furniture second.
  • No hot water or no heating. A dead boiler in winter is an emergency. If the fault is the boiler itself, the visit becomes aboiler repair. Some causes can be checked before anyone comes out: seeno hot water and no heating.
  • Drains backing up. Sewage in a toilet, gully or manhole is a health risk. Ourblocked drainswork runs on the same 24 hour rota.
  • The smell of gas. Call the National Gas Emergency Service free on 0800 111 999 first, at any hour. Open doors and windows, turn off the gas at the meter unless the meter is in a cellar, and do not use electrical switches or a flame. Then call us: our Gas Safe engineers repair and test before the supply goes back on.

What happens when you call

  1. The call is answered, whatever the hour. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Say what happened and where you are.
  2. You get an arrival window. We do not promise 30 minutes. We are based in Camden NW1, and the office tells you roughly when to expect us at your address.
  3. The visit is charged by the hour. The first hour covers the call out and finding the fault, and after that the visit is charged by the hour. A return visit or further work is quoted before it goes ahead.
  4. The job is done, and it is guaranteed. All work carries a 12 month guarantee, and we hold £10 million of public liability insurance.

Emergency call outs, answered

How quickly can an emergency plumber get to me?

We are based in Camden and cover all of London. Call with your postcode, any hour, and the office gives you an arrival window for your address before anyone is sent.

What should I do while I wait for the engineer?

Turn off the water at the stopcock and open the taps to drain the pipes. If water is near sockets or lights, switch the electricity off at the fuse box, but only if you can reach it without touching water. If you smell gas, call the National Gas Emergency Service free on 0800 111 999, open doors and windows, and do not use electrical switches or a flame.

Do you charge more for night and weekend call outs?

Yes. The rate depends on when we come, not on whether it is an emergency. From £110 + VAT (£132 inc VAT) per engineer for the first hour between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside those hours, weekends included, the first hour is £198 + VAT (£237.60 inc VAT) for homes, or £290 + VAT for commercial premises. The first hour covers the call out and finding the fault. After that the visit is charged by the hour, with materials and parking added where they apply. A return visit or further work is quoted first.

Can a tenant call you directly?

Yes. We often work through landlords and letting agents, with the engineer liaising directly with the tenant for access, whatever the hour.

Is emergency work guaranteed like planned work?

Yes. The 12 month guarantee covers all our work, emergency call outs included, and we carry £10 million of public liability insurance.
